About the dredging contractor

Royal Boskalis Westminster nv (Boskalis) is the dredging company selected by the Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) to undertake the channel deepening work. The PoMC and Boskalis have entered an alliance for the project.

PoMC selected Boskalis from a number of leading international firms identified as having the capacity to undertake the work.

Boskalis has impeccable credentials and brings unrivalled, best of practice technical and research capacity, as well as specialist technology, to the project. It is the world’s largest dredging company and has extensive expertise in minimising any environmental effects of dredging.

The company was awarded a certificate of excellence in environmental management by the Swedish Maritime Organisation.
