Dredging is currently occurring in:

Port Melbourne Channel (North of Bay)

Vessel undertaking works: Queen of the Netherlands 

Dredge material placed in: Port of Melbourne Dredged Material Ground 

Visible outcomes of works: Turbid plumes can expect to be seen in the vicinity of dredging works.

Please maintain a safe distance from dredging equipment at all times. For information on restricted access areas around vessels please follow this link.

Project Area 1: Yarra River & Hobsons Bay 
Dredging works: n/a

Project Area 2: North of Bay

Dredging works:  Dredging of clay is occurring in Port Melbourne Channel between Kp10.7 and Kp18.6. For location of KP's (Kilometre Points) please click here. (PDF, 4 Mb).

Dredged material will be placed in the Port of Melbourne Dredged Material Ground.

A sweep bar and tugboat are being used in the Port Melbourne Channel.  These work independent of the Queen of the Netherlands.

Dredging works: n/a

Daily activity updates will be provided on weekdays outlining the planned works for the next 24 hours (am to am). The Friday daily activity update will outline the planned works for that day and the weekend to follow (Friday am to Monday am).
