Dredging is currently occurring in:

South Channel, (South of Bay)

Vessel undertaking works: Queen of the Netherlands 

Dredge material placed in: South East Dredge Material Ground 

Visible outcomes of works: Turbid plumes can expect to be seen in the vicinity of dredging works.

Please maintain a safe distance from dredging equipment at all times. For information on restricted access areas around vessels please follow this link.

Project Area 1: Yarra River & Hobsons Bay 
Dredging works: n/a

Project Area 2: North of Bay
Dredging works: n/a

Project Area 3: South of Bay

Dredging works: Dredging of sand is occurring in South Channel in an area extending up to 8km west of Hovell Pile, approximately 0.4nm west of beacon No. 10 (KP22) and 01nm east of beacon No 18 [KP 30]. For location of KP's (Kilometre Points) please click here. (PDF, 4 Mb).

Dredging is expected between Kp22 and Kp27 in South Channel today. 

Dredged material will be placed in the South East Dredge Material Ground.
