Restricted Access Areas
Dredging operations as part of the Channel Deepening Project will
be occurring in sections of Port Phillip Bay until late
2009.
Restricted access areas, under the Port Services Act 1995
(Vic.), apply around dredging vessels operating in port
waters. The full details of the Restricted Access Areas can

All bay users should be mindful of restricted access
areas and in the interest of personal safety keep clear of all
dredging equipment.

It is an offence to enter, or remain in, or fail to comply with
an order to leave, a restricted access area without authority.
An offender may be prosecuted and fined under the Port Services
Act 1995 (Vic.) or the Summary Offences Act 1996
(Vic.)
